Whey Protein-based Cake
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whey protein powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, whey protein powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate mixing bowl, cream the butter until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, and mixing until everything is well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the surface with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before slicing and serving.
